On the occasion of World Ocean Day (WOD) established by UNESCO, the INGV Tsunami Alert Centre (CAT) will be present at the Santa Severa Castle from 8 to 10 June 2023 with an exhibition stand. CAT researchers will illustrate tsunami study, monitoring and surveillance activities.
Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to experts, watch videos of recent tsunamis around the world, browse unedited Story Maps about tsunamis, trigger real miniature tsunamis in special tanks and try their hand at the 'Tsunami Quiz'.
Together with the CAT activities, there will be a workshop where INGV researchers will illustrate the analysis techniques of 'tsunamites', a useful tool for the study of past tsunamis and for hazard assessment.
