The hypocentral localization and the earthquake magnitude, at the basis of the decision system of the matrix, triggered the Tsunami Alert Center service that within 8 minutes from the earthquake (11:24 Italian time), issued an INFORMATION message to the Civil Protection Department and the Mediterranean countries.
