Acapulco Sealevel 08.09.21

A magnitude Mwp 7.2 earthquake (INGV - Tsunami Alert Center estimate) occurred today, September 8, 2021, at 01:47 UTC (20:47 local, 03:47 Italian), eleven kilometers southwest of Acapulco city in the Guerrero region of Mexico (Lat. 17.163, Lon. -99.646) to an estimated depth of about 20 km. USGS (Mw 7.1) and SSN Mexico (Mw 7.0) report slightly different estimates.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued a tsunami warning for the coast of Mexico and surrounding regions within 300km of the epicenter. The alert was later revoked. 

Acapulco mareograph (figure), following the earthquake, recorded negative sea level anomalies of up to 60cm (withdrawal) and positive anomalies of about 40cm.
