Abstract

The Italian Tsunami Hazard Model (ITHM25) is a probabilistic hazard model for earthquake-generated tsunamis covering the whole Italian coastline. The results are presented as hazard curves calculated at 1,085 points of interest (POIs) at an average distance of approximately 5 km. For each POI, hazard curves are provided for various statistical measures (mean, 2nd, 16th, 50th, 84th and 98th percentiles) and for various average return periods (475, 975, 2,475, 4,975 and 9,975 years). The model was developed within the framework of the agreement between the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and the Department of Civil Protection (DPC).
