Filippine 11.08.21

At 17:46 UTC (02:46 local time) yesterday, 11 August 2021, a 7.2 Mwp earthquake was recorded in the western Pacific Ocean (Lat. 6.451, Lon. 126.791) offshore the Philippines at a depth of about 77 km.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (external link), eleven minutes after the earthquake (17:57 UTC), issued a tsunami warning on the eastern coasts of the Philippine Islands and Indonesia.

The warning was later revoked after mareographs recorded no significant sea level anomalies for a sufficiently long time.
