Today, February 10, 2021, at 13:20 UTC, a magnitude Mwpd 7.5 earthquake was recorded in the South Pacific Ocean (Lat. 22.90 S - 171.54 E) southeast of the Loyalty Islands and close to New Caledonia, about 33 km deep. 

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (external link) has issued a tsunami warning for an expected run up of 0.3 - 1m for New Caledonia, Australia, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Tonga and Tuvalu.

The first warning message sent at 13:29, was followed by a tsunami confirmation message (Watch level), issued at 14:32 (see alert cycle).

The Lenakel mareograph on Tanna Island (Vanuatu Islands) records sea level changes in excess of 50cm.

At 23.03 of 10.02.21 the end of tsunami watch message was sent.
