At 06:12:43 UTC, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the North Pacific Ocean offshore the Aleutian Islands (Alaska) at 20 km depth.

The event's magnitude generated a tsunami warning issued by the PTWC.

The warning was revoked at 07:29 UTC (see alert cycle), due to the absence of sea level anomalies recorded at the DART buoys. A single weak signal on land (Sand Point) was observed.
