The INGV's Tsunami Alert Centre (CAT) website is online. Website contains a lot of useful information to comprehend the tsunami risk in Italy and the Mediterranean area. Numerous aspects of the tsunami phenomena are described, from their causes to their propagation modalities, the warning and alert systems, the behaviours to be kept, the relations with the civil protection system, etc.
Home page map shows the seismic events that activated the tsunami warning system from 1/1/2017 (date of the start the official CAT operational phase) to yesterday. The colours of the symbols depend on the alert level (green: no alert/INFORMATION; orange alert/ ADVISORY; red alert/ WATCH).
Real-time alerts do not appear on the map at the moment. At the moment they are transmitted both to the National Civil Protection Department, which will sort them in real time to the local authorities and to the bodies constituting the national system, and to Euro-Mediterranean countries subscribing to the CAT services (Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, Lebanon, Great Britain, etc.).
